Dispatches... is a two-man exhibit with Barry Lorne at the NVRLND Arts Foundation in Calgary - a collection of new works that engage in some of the many history-defining matters of our age for which the correct 'side' to be on is not often clearly visible - such as the impacts of the MeToo movement, the urgency of addressing climate change and the potential costs and benefits of exploring beyond our planet, among many others. This wide range of subjects all sit at the tip of the fulcrum on which our civilization might teeter, destined to stay mired in regressive tribalism or progress in to a unified and promising future. Our path to visibility on these issues is through discourse alone.
NEON & CREAM | 2017
During this two day, pop-up art show, seventeen of Calgary’s artists, across a wide spectrum of experience, will showcase never-before-seen artworks, recently produced with the intent to investigate the exotic lure of fluorescent pigments. These artists share an intricate chromatic understanding and deft working knowledge of familiar materials. This exhibit aims to isolate a conscious, physical application of colour, focusing on the challenging, and sometimes unsettling inclusion of neons in the artist’s palette.
The Town Across the Tracks is a solo exhibition at Ruberto Ostberg Gallery.
The Town Across the Tracks is a deeply personal investigation of life’s fragility and of the places our conscious mind goes to find strength in the face of overwhelming challenge.
